Malaysian Shares Extend Three-Day Losses As US-Iran Tensions Escalate; TSH Resources Shares Drops 8%

Malaysian shares close slightly lower Monday amid escalating US-Iran tensions and higher oil prices, extending losses from the previous three sessions. The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI slid 0.1% or 1.60 points to close at

1,670.02.

The Producer Price Index for local production in Malaysia rose 10.7% year over year in August, accelerating from a 9.7% increase in July, according to data from the Department of Statistics Malaysia. The reading was higher than the 10.3% consensus forecast tracked by Trading Economics.

RedPlanet (KLSE:RPLANET) seeks to raise 13.3 million ringgit via an initial public offering on the ACE Market of Bursa Malaysia. The semiconductor industrial engineering company's IPO comprises a public issue of 70 million new shares at an issue price of 0.19 ringgit per share.

Shares of TSH Resources (KLSE:TSH) slumped about 8% on Monday's close after its unit Sarana Prima Multi Niaga was slapped with an administrative fine of 184.3 billion Indonesian rupiah, or about 42 million ringgit, in four monthly instalments.
