The German government is reportedly looking to block COSCO Shipping's (SHA:601919, HKG:1919) proposed purchase of 80% stake in German logistics company Konrad Zippel Spediteur, the Handelsblatt reported Tuesday.

This was confirmed by a classified note from the Federal Government "for official use only," exclusively available to the newspaper, the report said.

Germany's economic affairs ministry, Cosco Shipping, and Zippel did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for a comment.
