CeriBell (CBLL) has received the US Food and Drug Administration's approval for a software update that will add three capabilities to its namesake platform, the company said Wednesday.

The new capabilities are intended to simplify bedside electroencephalography interpretation, allowing clinicians to make "more informed" decisions, CeriBell said, adding that the approval has no age restriction.

The company expects to integrate the new features via an automatic software update in H1 2027, Chief Executive Jane Chao said.

CeriBell shares were down 1.1% in premarket activity.
