Lindian Resources (ASX:LIN) said that development at the Kangankunde project in Malawi continues under the current regulatory framework, following confirmation from the Mining and Minerals Regulatory Authority, which was disclosed in October 2025, according to a Wednesday filing with the Australian bourse.
The authority said that the project is not affected by Presidential Executive Order No. 2 of 2025 as monazite ore will be processed into concentrate in Malawi before export, the filing said.
First production is slated for the fourth quarter of the year, with construction works underway and key infrastructure progressing towards commissioning, per the filing.
Shares fell 10% in morning trade Wednesday.
