苹果公司已在印度正式推出其支付服务，旨在通过这一拥有超十亿消费者的关键增长市场，进一步扩大其业务版图。
这家美国科技巨头在周三的一份声明中表示，Apple Pay 首先将与印度本土贷款机构 Axis Bank Ltd．（Axis 银行）合作推出。这意味着 Axis 银行的客户可以将其信用卡或借记卡添加到 iPhone 和 Apple Watch 的苹果钱包中，并使用设备进行支付。
总部位于加州库比蒂诺的苹果公司正瞄准全球人口最多国家中迅速壮大的中产阶级。尽管印度市场目前由价格较低的 Android 设备主导，但随着苹果在当地制造和零售业务的不断增加，正帮助其在印度较富裕的消费者群体中赢得更多用户。
Apple Pay 依赖 Face ID 或 Touch ID 来授权线下“碰一碰”支付、网站购物以及应用内的付款。
据媒体此前报道，随着时间的推移，该服务将扩展支持其他银行的信用卡，以及印度国家支持的统一支付接口（Unified Payments Interface，简称 UPI）。UPI 允许印度客户即时转账和支付账单，在印度数字支付领域占据着主导地位。
