Asahi Yukizai Revises Up Profit Forecast for Fiscal H1; Shares Jump 9%

Asahi Yukizai's (TYO:4216) interim profit attributable to owners of the parent in the fiscal half ending Sept. 30 is expected to be 4 billion yen, up from the previous forecast of 2.7 billion yen, while the net sales estimate remains steady at 43 billion yen, according to a Monday filing with the Tokyo bourse.

Basic earnings per share is expected to be 212.87 yen, up from 143.69 yen.

Estimated dividends remain unchanged.

The company's valve & piping systems business' full-year sales and profits are expected to surpass initial forecasts, driven by strong semiconductor-related projects in Japan and abroad, raising consolidated results above previous forecasts.

Shares of the company jumped nearly 9% in recent trade.
