Sable Offshore (SOC) said Monday it expects to restart Platform Hondo in Q4, with the platform's reconstruction and internal operational commissioning complete and final Marine Minerals Administration review and approval of its instrumentation, control and safety commissioning submission expected in October.
The company plans four additional perforation operations before the restart, bringing completed operations to nine of Hondo's 15 production wells. Each operation is expected to add about 600 barrels of oil per day at a cost of roughly $800,000.
Sable is also planning operational and facility upgrades at its Las Flores Canyon Midstream processing facility to increase emulsion processing capacity ahead of Hondo's restart. The upgrades are expected to allow the facility to handle production from all three Santa Ynez Unit platforms at full productive capacity and reduce downtime in Q4.
Oil sales are expected to rise from about 34,000 gross barrels per day in September to an estimated October exit rate of about 45,000 gross barrels per day before Hondo volumes are added.
