Codan (ASX:CDA) expects communications revenue to surge to AU$400 million to AU$410 million in the first half of fiscal 2027, up from AU$221.8 million a year earlier, supported by exceptionally strong demand from conflict regions and broader global growth, according to a Tuesday Australian bourse filing.
Conflict-region sales are expected to contribute around 50% of communications revenue, driving the segment's first half earnings before interest and taxes margin to about 40%, up from 26% in the prior corresponding period, per the filing.
Minelab has had a strong start to fiscal H1, with revenue tracking slightly above the prior half, supported by robust detector demand, favorable gold prices and continued Rest of World growth, the filing said.
The company expects net profit after tax for the first half of fiscal 2027 to be at least AU$160 million, compared with AU$71.2 million in the prior corresponding period.
Communications revenue for fiscal 2027 is expected to grow by 30% to 40%, although demand from conflict regions remains difficult to forecast beyond three months, the filing added.
