Business outlook among Japan's largest manufacturing and non-manufacturing companies improved in the third quarter, according to the Bank of Japan's quarterly Tankan survey released on Thursday.
The outlook index for large manufacturers rose to 21 points from 17 in the previous survey, while the index for large non-manufacturers increased to 30 points from 28.
The outlook indexes reflect large companies' expectations for business conditions in the coming quarter.
