Auckland International Airport (ASX:AIA, NZE:AIA) said a NZ$3.9 billion program to deliver infrastructure upgrades and build a new domestic jet terminal at the Auckland Airport is more than halfway complete, according to a Thursday statement.

The initiative is progressing on track for completion in 2029.

The gateway airport, which houses more than 90% of New Zealand's international long-haul capacity, commissioned almost NZ$1 billion of new aeronautical assets in fiscal 2026 alone, the company said.

As part of the upgrades, the airport has replaced traditional airline desks with 28 modern self-service kiosks and 15 automatic bag drops, allowing different airlines to share check-in area facilities.
