DPM Metals Says Vares Mine Operating Normally After Bosnia Court Ruling

DPM Metals said its mining operations in Bosnia and Herzegovina remain uninterrupted after the country's courts ruled that regional authorities lacked jurisdiction over state-owned forest land concessions.

The Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina ruled that regional cantonal and municipal bodies didn't have the authority when granting forestry land conversion rights and concession annexes for Vares without state-level involvement.

However, the miner said that its flagship Vares mine in the country will continue as normal, and that the court's decision won't terminate or suspend the company's concession agreement.

The court has set a six-month period for relevant authorities to review the challenged acts and take any necessary steps to align local land permits with national state property laws.
