Sigma Lithium (ASX:SAU) temporarily suspended mining and industrial production in Brazil on Sept. 30 following a 15-day delay by the Federal Court of Appeals in reviewing the company's legal defense in the lawsuit filed by Ngolo relating to the dispute over environmental licenses in Minas Gerais, according to a Friday filing with the Australian bourse.
Ngolo is the Federation of Quilombola Communities of the State of Minas Gerais, an organization representing traditional Afro-descendant rural communities in Brazil.
The company confirmed that it expects to deliver 330,000 tonnes of lithium oxide concentrate in fiscal 2027, but will postpone its 12-month guidance of 240,000 tonnes by three months, the filing said.
