Lakes Blue Energy Aims to Start Testing Victoria Well in Mid-November; Shares Surge 28%

Lakes Blue Energy (ASX:LKO) aims to start a workover, perforation, and testing program at the Wombat-5 appraisal well in Victoria by mid-November, according to a Thursday filing with the Australian bourse.

A state regulator has accepted the operation plan variation for recompletion, perforation, and extended testing for the well, which is located within the company's Wombat gas field, per the filing.

Service contractors are in place and the Superior workover rig has been commissioned and tested, with the program's start remaining subject to equipment delivery and final mobilization, the company said.

Its shares surged 28% in recent Thursday trade.
