Members of a union representing workers at Micron Technology's (MU) Taoyuan operations in Taiwan have authorized a strike over the company's bonus scheme, Reuters reported Wednesday.
The union's 1,994 members, or 99% of those who voted, backed the strike, Reuters reported, adding that the timing and details of any work stoppage have yet to be decided.
The Taoyuan union said Micron's fiscal 2026 bonus package did not address its demand for a permanent profit-sharing system and criticized the company for announcing the rewards while mediation was ongoing, Reuters reported.
Micron spokesperson said it respects employees' legal rights and the mediation process and will continue talks with the unions, including another mediation session with the Micron Memory Taiwan Union later this month.
