A consortium led by Korea Electric Power (KRX:015760), or KEPCO, has obtained rights to maintain its stake in U.S. based Westinghouse Electric if it goes public, Pulse reported Thursday, citing government sources.
The South Korean consortium agreed to buy a 5-10% stake pre-IPO in the American nuclear energy company at 10% discount to the offering price from Brookfield Asset Management and Cameco Corp., the local news service said.
The group secured rights to acquire newly issued shares if Westinghouse completes an IPO to avoid equity dilution, the report said.
KEPCO did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
