UltraTech Cement Adds 127 MW Green Energy Capacity

UltraTech Cement (NSE:ULTRACEMCO, BOM:532538) commissioned 116.6 MW of wind capacity at its wind-solar hybrid project in Barmer, Rajasthan, and 10 MW of waste heat recovery system (WHRS) capacity at Sarlanagar Cement Works in Karnataka.

The additions take UltraTech's installed green energy capacity to 2,024 MW, comprising 1,580 MW of renewable energy and 444 MW of WHRS, according to an Indian bourse filing on Monday. The capacity meets about 48% of the company's power requirements. By 2030, UltraTech targets to increase green energy share in its total power mix to 85%.
