路透10月8日 - 衍生品交易所CME CME.O 周四表示，将推出全球首只棒球期货。

该合约将追踪CME FutureSports表现指数，该指数涵盖30支职业棒球队的统计数据。
待监管机构审核通过后，交易将于10月12日开始，首期交易标的为2026年季后赛以及联盟冠军系列赛中的四支球队。
“我们看到了将投资和套期保值的纪律性引入职业棒球行业的机会，”CME高级董事总经理兼股票、外汇及另类产品全球负责人蒂姆·麦考特（Tim McCourt）表示。
该衍生品交易所还于8月推出了 (link) ——全球首个基于指数的冰球期货。
CME 于7月与FutureSports合作，共同开发 (link) 与职业及大学体育赛事挂钩的衍生品，为预测市场上交易的基于赛事的合约提供了替代方案。
