Wens Foodstuff's (SHE:300498) chicken sales revenue rose, while pig sales revenue declined in September, according to a Shenzhen bourse filing on Thursday.
The livestock company's shares rose 1% during Friday's afternoon trade.
The company's revenue from the sales of chickens during the month rose 7.7% to 3.73 billion yuan from 3.46 billion yuan a year earlier.
Almost 126 million chickens were sold for an average of 14.20 yuan per kilogram during the month, compared with the year-ago sales of 122.6 million chickens sold for an average of 13.53 yuan per kilogram.
Sales revenue from pig sales fell 18% to 4.06 billion yuan from 4.98 billion yuan in the previous year.
Almost 3 million pigs were sold for an average of 10.75 yuan per kilogram, compared with 3.3 million pigs sold for an average of 13.18 yuan per kilogram a year earlier.
