Singapore's benchmark equities index bucked a broader regional downturn on Tuesday, closing in positive territory despite a tech-driven sell-off triggered by weak U.S. chipmaker data.

The Straits Times Index (STI), a key benchmark for the Singapore Exchange, ranged between 5,410.09 and 5,450.87 throughout the day. It ended the session at 5,430.50, up 15.02 points or 0.3% compared to Monday's close.

CityDev, UOB up over 1%; DBS, OCBC Bank up within 1%; Singtel, iFast, SGX down nearly 1%.

On the corporate front, shares of Annica (SGX:JFQ) surged over 9% at the close as its unit Panah Jaya Services signed an memorandum of understanding with PJ Energy Services to explore collaboration in pipeline integrity and oil and gas services and equipment in Thailand.

ESR-REIT (SGX:9A4U) closed over 1% higher as it secured a 7.10 billion yen sustainability-linked unsecured term loan facility with Malayan Banking's (KLSE:MAYBANK) Singapore Branch.

Meanwhile, Food Empire (SGX:F03) unit, Empire International, has signed a business collaboration with ACI Beverages to market MacCoffee in Bangladesh. Shares closed flat.
