ABN AMRO Investors to Focus on Excess Capital Plans

1103 GMT - ABN AMRO Bank's next catalyst will be its approach to excess capital when it reports full-year results, Barclays analysts Namita Samtani and Raghav Agrawal write. The Dutch bank could have excess capital of 2.9 billion euros, based on Barclays estimates. "With meaningful excess capital available, we believe a directed buyback could be considered, which would be incrementally positive if it came on top of the 100% payout ratio we forecast," the analysts say. Investors will require more clarity on the company's plans, especially if the excess capital were to be used for other things like organic growth. ABN AMRO should report solid trends for the third quarter, Barclays says. Shares are down 1.15%.
