Halliburton Logs Sharply Higher 3Q Profit as Revenue Climbs

Halliburton reported higher profit and revenue in the latest quarter, driven by improving trends across its drilling-and-evaluation segment.

The Houston oil-services company posted a third-quarter profit of $417 million, or 50 cents a share, compared with $18 million, or 2 cents a share, in the same quarter a year earlier.

Stripping out one-time items, earnings came in at 60 cents a share, two pennies above the consensus estimate of analysts polled by FactSet.

Total revenue edged 1.8% higher to $5.7 billion, topping Wall Street models for $5.58 billion.

Revenue from Halliburton's drilling-and-evaluation unit was up 10% to $2.61 billion, boosted in part by improved activity across multiple product service lines in the Middle East and Latin America. The increase helped offset a decline in the company's completion-and-production business, with revenue falling 4.2% to $3.09 billion in that unit.

"We are another three months into one of the largest energy disruptions in history," Chief Executive Jeff Miller said. "I expect the work to restore production, rebuild inventories and strengthen energy security will drive multiyear demand growth for oilfield services."

Looking ahead, Miller said Halliburton expects mid-single-digit revenue growth and operating margins of about 15%, based on early outlooks for 2027.
