ChainCatcher 消息，工商时报报道，日本经济产业省已核准台积电熊本县第二工厂生产 3 纳米制程先进半导体的第一阶段计划，这将是日本国内首次有厂商制造 3 纳米制程芯片。台积电后续可依日本政府追加支持进一步扩充产能。熊本县知事木村敬表示，这项计划将带动新一波创造性复兴。
《日本经济新闻》称，经产省已将熊本二厂列为补助对象，该厂规划生产 3 纳米，预计 2028 年 12 月正式投产，最终产能视补助金额而定。经产省将把补助所需预算纳入 2027 年度概算要求，日本政府原先规划提供 7320 亿日元补助。《朝日新闻》指出，熊本二厂仍在建设中，与已投产的熊本第一工厂相邻。
台积电此前规划二厂制造 6 纳米与 12 纳米等制程，月产能 48000 片，并规划生产 40 纳米；今年 2 月计划改为 3 纳米，月产能缩减至 6000 片。熊本一厂调整方案亦获经产省认可，原计划每月 55000 片、涵盖 22 至 28 纳米以及 12 至 16 纳米，新计划停止生产 12 至 16 纳米，改为每月 45000 片 22 至 28 纳米。
