Pursuant to section 35 of the Securities and Futures Ordinance (Cap. 571), the Securities and Futures (Contracts Limits and Reportable Positions) Rules, and the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited Guidelines on Strengthening Large Open Position Monitoring for Stock Index Futures and Options:
Unless otherwise authorised, when the positions held in a client’s account in futures or options contracts exceed the prescribed Large Open Position Reporting Level, such positions are required to be reported to the Exchange.
1. Filing conditions
Positions in futures or options contracts that remain open after market close are subject to position reporting requirements if they reach the specified threshold (please refer to the relevant link for details). Clients are required to declare such positions accordingly. Please regularly monitor your holdings across all relevant accounts to ensure the accuracy of the aggregated position calculation.
2. Reporting methods
(1) When customers who open an account in Tiger Brokers hold positions reaching the reporting level, Tiger Brokers will act as an agent to report on behalf of customers and customers do not need to do any operation.
(2) When the combined positions of multiple brokers reach the reporting level and you have account(s) with other broker(s) that have open positions or reportable positions, as outlined in the Securities and Futures Commission's Guidance Note on Position Limits and Large Open Position Reporting Requirements, Paragraph 6.1 - 6.3. Please (a) make arrangements with your other broker(s) to report all your reportable positions to HKEX and (b) notify Tiger Brokers that you have reportable positions.
