Takuma Co., Ltd. engages in the design, construction, and superintendence of various boilers, plant machineries, pollution prevention and environmental equipment plants, heating and cooling equipment, and feed water/drainage sanitation equipment and facilities in Japan and internationally. It operates through four segments: Domestic Environment and Energy Business, Overseas Environment and Energy Business, Package Boiler Business, and Equipment and System Business. The Domestic Environment and Energy Business segment engages in the construction of waste treatment plants and sewage treatment plants for local governments and facilities, such as biomass power plants for private sector customers as well as after sales services comprising plant maintenance, operational management, O&M, and power retail business services. The Overseas Environment and Energy Business segment engages in the construction and maintenance of biomass power plants and energy from waste plants overseas. The Package Boiler Business segment manufactures, sells, and maintains boilers, such as compact once-through boilers and vacuum-type hot water heaters that are used as heat-source equipment at shopping centers, factories, and other facilities. The Equipment and System Business segment is engaged in the design and fabrication of building equipment, such as air-conditioning, water, and wastewater systems, as well as manufacture, sale, and maintenance of equipment for semiconductor industry, including clean equipment and washing system. The company was formerly known as Takuma Boiler Manufacturing Co., Ltd. and changed its name to Takuma Co., Ltd. in 1972. The company was incorporated in 1938 and is headquartered in Amagasaki, Japan.
