5) China A-shares

Tiger brokers certain Mainland China-listed securities in the Shanghai and Shenzhen markets through HKEX’s "Shanghai Connect" and "Shenzhen Connect" mechanisms. The following contains a brief introduction to HKEX’s Stock Connect. Please visit HKEX’s website, e.g., Information Booklet & FAQ, for more.

  1. Scope of Trade

For a list of all eligible securities, please refer to the HKEX website: All Eligible Securities.

  • Only A-shares and ETFs are included in the Shanghai Connect and Shenzhen Connect. Other Mainland China-listed securities such as B-shares, debt securities, and other non-eligible equities are not included.

Note: Tiger does not support ChiNext and STAR share trading.

  1. Trading Hours

Please refer to the HKEX Calendar.

Trading is only available from Monday to Friday (GMT+8), when all three markets (SSE, SZSE, and HKEX) are open, as follows:

Does not accept cancel orders for SSE/SZSE A-shares and ETFs during 9:20 - 9:25

Continuous Trading (Morning)

SSE and SZSE A-shares and ETFs do not accept instructions to cancel buy or sell orders during 14:57 - 15:00

Orders that are not matched during the opening call auction period will automatically enter the continuous trading that follows.

  1. Tick Size

  • Tick size for stocks: 0.01 RMB

  • Tick size for ETFs: 0.001 RMB

  1. Lot Size

  • Board lot: 100 shares per lot

    • Only a sell order to sell one's odd lot in full may be accepted.

    • Buy orders must be placed in board lots, but odd lot executions can happen, since odd lot sell orders are allowed.

  • The maximum buy/sell order quantity per order: 1,000,000 shares.

  1. Settlement Rules

  • All trades are settled in RMB.

  • Stocks purchased on a given day (T) cannot be sold on the same day - selling of those stocks can be placed the next trading day (T+1).

  • The sale proceeds of a given day (T) are settled on the next trading day (T+1).

Note: With Tiger, the sale proceeds of Stock Connect of a given day (T) are made available for trading on the same day.
